Rhino Beetle

My piece for the Six-Legged Freaks show opening Saturday April 10th at Cactus Gallery in Eagle Rock (See post below). I wanted it to look like a Victorian studio portrait of a young boy and his pet. I gave it a sepia tone, and "tinted" a couple of areas to make them stand out. The colors look better in person.

Something I don't show often on here- a work in progress before color and cross hatching.

Huge Group Show -- New Artists to Northeast L.A. -- Bug Themed Art Show

Join us for a night of fun, art and food. This month's NELAart (Northeast L.A.) Second Saturday Gallery Night will be SWEET!  NELAart Second Saturday Gallery Night is a free self-guided tour of the galleries, non-profits and artist run project spaces located in Northeast Los Angeles (NELA). NELA has a tradition in the arts that dates back to the early 1900's when the USC College of Fine Arts was located in Highland Park and characters like Charles Lummis & Antonio Corsi were living in the area. The tradition continues with new spaces opening regularly. NELA is now one of L.A.'s most exciting destinations to view contemporary art.  Some of LA's best and up and coming food trucks will be EAST SIDE to support NELAart Second Saturday Gallery Night. My animation for the Titmouse 5 Second Day starring my little guy Beamer, animated in Flash.

Birthday Mouse

I dressed up a little mouse for a birthday present. The real stuffed mouse is from Necromance in LA. I made the hat, cake, and banner from paper and tiny pom poms. The plastic balloons are a cake decoration. I got the little glass house is from an antique store. It was a success!

Free As A Bird art show
