Victorian Chid

Victorian children are fun to draw. They look like miniature adults, and are usually in stiff proper poses. I also like that little boys had to wear dresses at a young age.

Day 4

Pen on paper.
I took this one into Photoshop to add the chair fabric pattern and give it a sepia tone.

Here is the original.

Drawing A Day

Inspired by following Daisy and Damon's drawing a day blogs, I've decided to try it myself.
I have been working too much on a computer and found myself incredibly rusty at drawing on paper.
Here's Day 1

From a book of late 1950s Sears Catalog Fashions.
I love how all the models are perfectly posed in the most stiff and uncomfortable ways. I also love many of the styles of clothing. This is one of my favorites.

Gallery Photos

Some photos of the work in the show, including work of a couple of the other artist's work. The show is a mix of widely different styles, from painting to photography to illustration to found art. Turn out for the reception was great. Lots of people, positive response, and good times. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos from the reception (d'oh!).
